2025 Expectations

the obligatory New Year's post

It’s 2025, ya’ll! And with that brings new goals and challenges for myself.

On Dec 30th of last year, I published Rose’s Ruin, the prequel to Rose’s Wrath! There were almost five years between their publication dates but it feels so great to be back into it!

I’ll keep this newsletter post brief, and focus mainly on my goals for this coming year. These will center around a couple projects: VANITAS, Rose’s Reign, and Of Sails and Souls.

VANITAS

VANITAS is a short story centered on the life of a young man, Perseus, who is surviving in what remains of America centuries after the third world war. It deals with topics such as the sanctity of life, the value of personal freedom, and what we’re willing to do for what we truly love and believe. It is just over 7k words long and will be between 10-15k when completed. I plan for it to be a newsletter exclusive.

Rose’s Reign

This will the final installment in the Rose’s War series which is over five years in the making! For whatever reason, it has been deeply challenging to write, which is part of the reason it is taking forever. The goal is to have the first draft completed by June and to have to ready for release sometime in the beginning of next year!

Of Sails and Souls

This has been my passion project for years now and I believe it encapsulates a lot of the greater aspects of my writing style. It follows the story of a young woman, Nalu, who is half siren. She journeys the high seas with her pirate crew in search of her long-lost mother in an attempt to discover who she truly is. Ideally, I would have the first draft for this finished as well sometime this year. I have a cover already and I am very excited to say that this will be a stand-alone. So many stories on the market follow a series, which is great, but I wanted to keep everything wrapped up nicely in a single novel.

To end this month’s newsletter, I want to talk about Rose’s Ruin. I plan to host a giveaway with a signed copy, as well as create a little goodie box that people can purchase directly from me! It will feature a signed copy of Rose’s Ruin (and perhaps Rose’s Wrath!), a printed piece of art, and a bookmark. I might add more to this depending on the interest.

Alright, folks, that’s all for now. I hope to flesh out this newsletter more in this new year, so those of you already subscribed, I appreciate it!
